Motorization isn’t a separate product — it’s a lift system we can build into most shades and drapery panels we install. We work with Graber’s motorized systems, powered by a rechargeable battery or hardwired, controlled by wall switch, remote, or app, and paired with Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomeKit.
Motorized Shades
The most common upgrade — ideal for skylights, stairwells, and any shade too tall or too high to reach by hand.
Motorized Roman Shades
Classic folded-fabric styling with the same one-button convenience — motorization is available on nearly every Roman shade we install.
Automated Drapes
Full-panel drapery tracks that open and close on schedule — useful for two-story windows and vaulted great rooms.
Battery, Hardwired, or Solar — Which One
Rechargeable battery motors are the right choice for most rooms — no electrician needed, and a charge typically lasts 6 to 12 months depending on how often the shade runs. Hardwired motors make sense for a whole-house project or a window that gets used multiple times a day, since they never need charging. For sun-facing windows, a small solar panel can keep a battery motor topped off indefinitely. We spec the right power option per window during your consultation, not as a one-size-fits-all default.
Smart Home Integration & Scheduling
Every motor we install pairs with a wall switch and a remote at minimum, and most also connect to a phone app for one-off control from anywhere. From there, they integrate with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit for voice control, and can be set on a sunrise/sunset schedule so shades open and close automatically — genuinely useful for security while traveling, not just a convenience feature. Multiple shades in one room can be grouped to move together on a single command.
